Most of our diamond deposits are located in Yakutia. People live in single-industry towns there, and ALROSA is the largest key employer of the region. About 50,000 people live in these small towns — Mirny, Aikhal, and Udachny.

The company invests a lot into organizing leisure activities for its employees. ALROSA organizes more than 4,000 sporting and cultural events every year. Of course, they’re not as big as the ones held in the capital city.

We want to bridge the gap between the quality of life in a smaller «monotown» (a town where most residents are employed by a single company) and a metropolis with a population of over a million people. We want people who live in «diamond towns» to have a chance to see sports and pop culture stars, learn new things, be inspired, and strive for personal growth.

Our company has signed numerous sponsorship contracts under which we collaborate with federal sports and cultural organizations. We have given ourselves a comprehensive challenge: to optimize all our contracts in a way that will have a positive impact on the monotown communities, first and foremost.

For instance, 2017 saw the birth of the Nastroyeniye Festival, an event where Yakutia is visited by celebrity athletes and coaches, as well as prominent cultural figures and artists from various spheres. They spend several days in each city they visit, offering public lessons, workshops, and performances that are open to everyone completely free of charge.

The main mission of the festival is to promote and support a healthy lifestyle among adults and children alike, helping children develop their skills, find their talents, and pave their way to the future.

Diamond towns recently saw representatives of Russian hockey, basketball, wrestling, acrobatic rock-n-roll, choreography, and ballet. Over 2,000 people have already participated in the festival, and we are sure the number will increase each year.

Today the Nastroyeniye Festival is one of the most anticipated events for those who want to be a part of the sports and cultural life of the region.
