1. Princess Diana’s Engagement Ring

This legendary ring bears an 18-carat Ceylon sapphire, surrounded by 14 diamonds. Prince Charles invited the jewelers, House of Garrard, to Windsor Castle, and they brought along their very best rings. Diana, who had always loved sapphires, made her choice. Today, you might spot Kate Middleton wearing this very same ring.

2. The Tiffany Yellow Diamond Necklace

This beautiful 128.54-carat yellow diamond was cut from a rough diamond originating from the legendary Kimberley mine in South Africa. It became famous thanks to the Breakfast at Tiffany’s film, specifically its star, played by Audrey Hepburn. The jeweled ribbon necklace that we see in the film was created in 1961. This was merely the first setting for the famous gem. Later on, the diamond was wrought into the Bird on a Rock brooch; and in 2012, it was added to a necklace design in honor of the Tiffany brand’s 175th anniversary. This necklace, still bearing Tiffany’s greatest treasure, is now on display at the brand’s flagship store in New York.

3. Elizabeth Taylor’s Ring

This ring is part of the diamond collection that used to belong to Elizabeth Taylor, known for her love of jewelry. A generous gift from the actress’s husband Richard Burton, it bears a 33.19-carat diamond and was one of Elizabeth’s most beloved accessories. After her death, the ring was renamed as the Elizabeth Taylor Diamond. It was sold to a new owner at an auction in New York in 2012.

4. Grace Kelly’s Engagement Ring

As he was getting ready to propose to the actress Grace Kelly, Prince Rainier III of Monaco initially wanted to give her a ring adorned with even rows of rubies and diamonds, reflecting the colors of his principality. But, for whatever reason, the prince deemed that ring insufficient, and presented his fiancée with another one: this time, the ring was inlaid with a 10.5-carat emerald cut diamond, framed by two baguettes. The ring appears in the last film starring Grace Kelly, the High Society musical comedy.

5. The Incomparable Necklace

Designed by the famous Mouawad Jewelry House, the Incomparable Necklace is considered the most expensive necklace in the world. It is adorned with a perfect yellow diamond that weighs 407.48 carats and is surrounded by 90 smaller white pear-rough diamonds, 230 carats in total.

6. Jacqueline Kennedy’s Engagement Ring

This ring, designed by Van Cleef & Arpels, was given by John Kennedy to his fiancée Jacqueline, and was her very first piece of real jewelry. Before that Jacqueline, a journalist of modest means, had only been able to afford imitation jewelry. The ring had a very special design: two large baguette cut gems (emerald and diamond, 2.8 carats each) were adorned with diamond petals. Later on, Jacqueline adjusted the ring’s design somewhat, adding more gemstones. The famous accessory is now on display at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston.

7. The Tsarevna Swan Ring

The Tsarevna Swan ring is made out of over 2.5 thousand tiny diamonds. That is the largest number of gems ever to be used for encrusting a standard ring. It even earned the ring a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
